We had a wonderful romantic escape at this guesthouse. The owners were incredibly kind and friendly, making us feel right at home. The Japanese-style rooms were beautifully decorated with personal touches, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The location was perfect for exploring the city, with shops, restaurants, and attractions all within a short distance.

While the guesthouse had many positive aspects, there were a couple of drawbacks. the view from our room was blocked by a park, so we couldn't see the sea.

This place is absolutely amazing! The rooms are super clean and spacious, with a good supply of towels. The location is mind-blowing, just a short walk from the train station, making it super easy to explore the area. The best part is the bathroom with a television in the bath - it's jaw-dropping! The washing machine and dry room are also a great bonus. Plus, there are convenient stores nearby for all your needs. This place is definitely a great value for the space, and a comfortable and practical mini-apartment experience. Highly recommend!

The staff, especially Ms Liao, were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and spacious, with a separate kitchen, laundry, toilet, and shower/bath room. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated having two good puffy pillows each. The location was convenient, being a short 5-10 minutes walk from the rail-station. The option to pay via Paypal was convenient, and the initial contact via email was quick and responsive. Kotoya provided a great option for staying in Kyoto without the high cost of a hotel.

Spacious apartment with well-designed rooms, including a good bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and laundry facilities. The location is convenient for exploring Kyoto and is close to the station.

The guest house lacked basic amenities such as tea and coffee making facilities, cutlery, and hand soap. There were also issues with the free wifi not working and limited contact with staff, resulting in a hostel-like atmosphere.

The staff at the Guesthouse Kotoya were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay enjoyable. The location near a halal eatery was convenient for us as Muslims. The cozy and spacious room had a home-like feel and the small TV screen over the bath tub was a unique touch. The facilities, including a washing machine and drying room, were a great addition. Walking to Kyoto station took only 10 minutes and there was a fantastic coffee shop, Kurasu coffee, along the way.

Felt like visiting family, nothing too much trouble.
